About Me
Meet Your Provider
Hello, and welcome to Mind Matters Behavioral Health. My name is Teresa Arnold, and I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and the founder of this practice. I am licensed to provide advanced psychiatric care to patients in Tennessee (License #31979), Nevada (License # 887981, and Iowa (License # G179066). I am also certified by Evergreen Certifications as a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP).
My Journey: From Critical Care to Holistic Psychiatry
My clinical foundation began in high-acuity critical care, where I spent years treating patients in intensive care settings. During my time in the ICU, I frequently treated vulnerable individuals suffering from acute physical illnesses that stemmed from years of inadequate psychiatric care and untreated substance use disorders.
This profound experience shifted my clinical focus. I realized that to truly improve a patient's quality of life—rather than simply prolonging it—we must address mental wellness with the same urgency and precision as physical health. As a nurse practitioner, I am trained to utilize a holistic, whole-person model of care. I combine advanced psychopharmacology and cutting-edge interventional psychiatry with compassionate psychotherapy.
Specialized, High-Complexity Care
At Mind Matters, we specialize in treating complex conditions that require a higher level of clinical expertise. My intensive care background uniquely equips me to safely administer and monitor advanced treatments in our clinic, including:
-
Spravato® (esketamine) Therapy: Administered safely in our certified REMS treatment center with continuous vital sign and safety monitoring. This treatment is proven successful for improving remission rates of Treatment-resistant Depression (TRD)
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD & Anxiety Disorders
-
Psychosis & Thought Disorders
Balancing Advanced Care with Patient-Centered Flexibility
I founded Mind Matters to offer a more personalized, accessible, and flexible approach to mental healthcare. As a working wife and mother, I understand the immense challenge of prioritizing personal healing while managing a busy schedule. Traditional 9-to-5 clinic hours can be a barrier to receiving life-changing care.
To support you, we offer a hybrid model of care. While specialized treatments like Spravato must be conducted in person at our certified Maryville clinic, we utilize secure telehealth for routine psychiatric follow-ups and psychotherapy sessions. Choosing me as your provider means receiving exceptional, evidence-based psychiatric services designed to fit your life.
